~MY STANLEY FAMILY~
Caleb was the son of Timothy Stanley and ELIZABTH (MORRIS) STANLEY BACON, my ancestors.
He married three times, his first marriage taking place on March 1, 1665 in Hartford to Hannah Cowles, and a second marriage to Sarah Foster on Sept. 24, 1690. His third and last marriage was to Lydia (Cole) Wilson, widow of John Wilson and daughter of John Cole, on September 14, 1699 in Hartford, Conn.

He became a freeman in 1665, sargent in 1669 and later a captain. He was townsman in 1671-8, 1682-7, 1690; an Assistant in 1691; Assistant to the General Court 1691-1700; commissioner to Albany, with Col. Allyn to negotiate with the Indians; and on the Council of Safety with the Governor & Assistants. His will of March, 1716 names his widow, Lydia.
