Born in Italy, she was brought to Kenilworth as an infant. She lived there until moving to Westfield three years ago.
Her husband, Charles Capone, died in 1976.
She is survived by two sons, Ernest Vardalis of Brick Town and Police Capt. Alfred Vardalis of the Westfield Police Department; two brothers, Samuel and Charles Vitale, president of the Union County Regional District High School Board of Education, both of Kenilworth; a sister, Mrs. Anne Jannucci of Long Beach, six grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Mastapeter Suburban, Roselle Park, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, Kenilworth. Interment was in Graceland Memorial Park.
