Feb. 10.--Flavours Kerley, 55, died Thursday morning at 1:07 o'clock at his home at 5 Twenty-fifth Street, Victor Mill, after declining health for one year and a serious illness of one week.
Mr. Kerley was born and reared in the Campobello section but had lived most of his life in Greer. He was the son of the late Jim and Betty Hines Kerley.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Corrie Wilson Kerley; five step-daughters, Miss Lavonia Wilson, Mrs. Horace A. Johnson, Mrs. C. M. Gillard, Mrs. G. E. Powell and Mrs. J. D. Fortenberry; two step-sons, Luther and Roy L. Wilson, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. R. P. Lamb, assisted by Rev. Paul Mabrey and Rev. David Reese. Interment will be in the Motlow Creek cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Grady Hawkins, Roy Loftis, Layton Horton, Walter Young, Albert Dendy and Herbert Burch.
The following are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 o'clock and serve as honorary pallbearers; Ellis Rollins, Earl Gilliard, J. F. Balliew, Will Hawkins, P.F. Jackson, Henry Wilson, Leonard Morgan and Milton Gorman.
The body is at the home.
