Joseph was born about 13 Aug. 1763 based on his age at death (77 years, 7 months & 29 days). He was the son of Benjamin Lodge and Rebecca Allen, and the brother of Samuel Lodge, with whom he shared the Lodge family mansion.

He married Anna Horner on 10 July 1791. He was a marine master/trader, and a lay judge in Gloucester County for many years. He and his son Joseph were among the 6 trustees of the Paulsboro Methodist Church elected in 1825, who incorporated in 1826. He died at his residence near Billingsport.

Gravesite Details
