Funeral services for Stan Farabee, 82, of Tahlequah will be 2:00 Tuesday June 25, 2013, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Daniel Buzzard and Rev. Paul Starkey. Interment will follow in the Cobb Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Stan was born on February 8, 1931, in Amarillo, TX the son of Harland and Ethel (Chriswell) Farabee. He had served in the US Army 1952-1954. He had worked as a shoe salesman in California where he made Orthopedic shoes in a shop he owned. Following his move to Oklahoma he was employed as a truck driver until his retirement in 1992. On December 24, 1988 he wed Hattie Lou Somner in Fayetteville, AR. Stan enjoyed visiting people and speaking at AA Meetings. He recently celebrated 40 years of sobriety and was proud to receive the 40 year chip. Stan loved everybody and was never known to meet a stranger. The angels came to take him home to be with Jesus on June 21, 2013. Stan has been predeceased by his parents.
