Mrs. Martha Lee Baily, widow of Joseph Taylor Baily, deceased, died at her home near Carmichaels, Monday morning, March 1, aged 84 years of infirmities incident to advanced years. Mrs. Baily was a daughter of Frances and Martha Lee, who came to this country from England with a family of nine children and were pioneer settlers in Greene County. She was born August 30, 1835, and spent the greater part of her life in Cumberland Township, this county. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Carmichaels for many years. She was a devout Christian and highly esteemed. Two sons survive, Frank P. and Eli F. Baily, both of Carmichaels. The funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 pm conducted by the Rev. Clay Bland, pastor of the Carmichaels M.E. Church. Interment in the Laurel Point Cemetery.
