Decorah A. Roberts Abbott, 69, of Connersville, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at her residence.
The eldest of eight children, she was born January 25, 1944 in Torrance, California, the daughter of Leonard Joseph Roberts and Margaret Ella Randall Roberts Lee; she was a graduate of Union High School in Redondo Beach, California – upon leaving the West Coast, she moved to East Central region of Indiana, more recently locating to Connersville.
An active member of Everton Southern Baptist Church, she retired as an assembler with Visteon; in her leisure, she enjoyed reading and collecting angels – but her special love was extended to her two yorkies, Sugar and Skipper.
She is survived by four children, Jeff A. Slifer and his wife Rita, Glen B. Slifer and his wife Donna, Cindy McCracken and John Aaron Eblen and his wife Amber, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three brothers, Dan Roberts and his wife Bonnie, Eddie Roberts and Henry Roberts, and a sister, Nancy Terrel and her husband Greg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Friday, June 21, 2013, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Helton, officiating; burial will be in Milton Cemetery – family and friends may call at the Funeral Home from 11 AM until the time of the service on Friday; they may also visit anytime online at millermosterrobbins.com.
