Altizer, Doris Simmons, 83, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010.
Doris was a wonderful wife, mom and grandma, she was also a member of the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Monroe Altizer, of 55 years; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Shirley Altizer, of Check, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Ken Schulz, of Bristow, VA; grandchildren, Cindy, Kenny, Jay Sidney, Sherry and Brandy; brother, Jimmy Simmons and wife, Betty, of Christiansburg, VA; sister, Irene Simmons, of Riner, VA; sister, Anna Mae Saunders and husband, Phil, of Christiansburg, VA; and sister, Dianne Addison, and husband, Claude, of Christiansburg, VA; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 16, 2010 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren with Pastor Don Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, VA.
