BETTENDORF - Services for Stella B. Allen, Huntsville, Ala., will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bettendorf Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Daughters of the Nile Pyramid Temple 10 will conduct graveside services. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. by Davenport Chapter 178 at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in Huntsville. She was a housewife, cake decorator and substitute teacher. She was born April 24, 1912, in Scott County, to Harry and Esther (Miller) Wilcox. She married Clyde W. Allen on Nov. 26, 1930, in Tipton, Iowa. He died Oct. 23, 1983. Mrs. Allen was former chairman of Madison County Red Cross volunteers in Huntsville from 1967 to 1969; past matron of Davenport Chapter 178, Order of Eastern Star; past queen of Pyramid Temple 10, Daughters of the Nile, Davenport; and an ordained deacon of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and Shriners Hospital for Children. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Allen, Huntsville; a son, the Rev. C. William Allen, Huntsville; grandsons, Tim Allen, Huntsville, and Gregory Allen, Macon, Ga.; great-grandsons, Robert Allen, Huntsville, and Wade Allen, Huntsville; sisters, Wilma Schick, Davenport, and Alice Rowland, Davenport; and a brother, Lester G. Wilcox, Davenport.
