Rollie E. Thomson, 66, died at 9:45 Wednesday evening, May 19, at the home of his son, John, at Albert Lea. Mr. Thomson had been in poor health for five years. His death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. A resident of Waseca county for 28 years, Rollie Edward Thomson was born August 2, 1888 at Stuart, Nebraska and baptized in the Presbyterian church at Stuart. His parents, John and Josephine Thomson are now deceased. Mr. Thomson and Bernice Wakefield of Naper, Nebraska, were united in marriage July 26, 1908 at Fairfax, South Dakota. They came to Waseca county in 1926 and for six years farmed in rural Waseca. In his later years he was a cab driver for the local taxi service. Surviving with his widow are four sons, Wayne of Eugene, Oregon, Max of Renton, Washington, John of Albert Lea, Warren, Bismarck, North Dakota and one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Klinger (Josephine) of Waseca. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. L. M. Cady (Eloise), Reseda, Calif., and two brothers, Jack, Harding, Washington and William of Brownsville, Oregon. Services were held at two o'clock on Saturday at the Pfaff chapel after which the body was interred in Woodville cemetery. Rev. Hillis B. Slaymaker of the Methodist church officiated. William Gallagher, Pete Sprengeler, Patrick Wood, Alfred Fell, Earl Conway and Robert McCarthy of Waseca served as pall bearers. People from out of town attending the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Warren Thomson and family, Bismarck, North Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. John Thomson and family, Albert Lea; Mrs. Arlie St. Clair, Winner, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Novotny, Winner, South Dakota. Other friends and relatives came from Albert Lea and New Ulm.
