Aaron F. Hettinger, whose death occurred on Tuesday evening as noted yesterday, wsa a member of Co. E, 95th Regt. Pa. Vols., having enlisted Oct 10, 1841, and was honorably discharged July 17, 1845. Mr. Hettinger Participated in the following engagements: Battle of Fair Oaks, Seven Days' fight in Virginia, Bull Run, Harpers Ferry, South Mountain, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Fredricksburg, Bristol Station, Rappahannock, Cedar Creek, Spotsylvania, Winchester, Appomattox, Battle of the Wilderness, and Gettysburg. He was wounded in the Battle of the Wilderness, but soon recovered. He was a member of the local Post, G. A. R., Wadhams Lodge, No. 872, I. O. O. F., and Henderson Gaylord Council, No 316, Jr. O. U. A. M. Aside from three sons named in yesterday's paper, William, Daniel and Charles, there are Mrs. Daniel Jenkins of this town. Mrs. A. E. Blackwell of Carbondale, Mrs. Harry Platt of Kingston and Mrs. Pierce Davis of Nesquehoning; also thirty-seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers. Peter of Wilkes-Barre, Joseph and Stephen, and one sister in the west. The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon with services at the house at 2 o'clock. Interment in Shawnee Cemetery.
