Janice Compton Obituary COMPTON Mrs. Janice Compton, 60, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at her residence surrounded by her family. Janice was a native of Jacksonville, graduated in 1966 from Andrew Jackson and received her Associate in Arts degree from FCCJ. She was a life long active member of Lake Forest Church of Christ, serving and teaching in various departments, especially the children and youth. Janice is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne R. Compton, with whom she assisted in his law practice; 3 sons: Alan, Joel and David (Andrea) Compton; 2 sisters: Linda (Floyd) Kirby and Karen (Richard) McWilliams; 1 brother: Kenneth Newcity; 2 grandchildren: Canaan and Noah Compton; 2 brothers-in-law: Bill and Bobby (Dot) McCoy; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2008 at Lake Forest Church of Christ, 950 Edgewood Avenue West, with Larry Paulk and Maynard Booher, officiating. Her family will receive friends from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday (TODAY) at the Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made in her memory to Community Hospice.
