Regina Carpenter

HOLMESVILLE — Regina M. Carpenter, "Reg," 68, lifelong resident of Holmesville and South New Berlin, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 10, 2002, in the Binghamton General Hospital.

Born and raised in Holmesville, Reg attended the South New Berlin schools. Soon after her schooling, she began a longtime employment with Breakstone (Kraft Foods) in South Edmeston, working there for 35 years, retiring in 1987.

Reg was always willing to help her friends and neighbors in any way she could when they needed a hand. She was very fond of flowers.

Reg was born in Holmesville on Dec. 3, 1933, the daughter of George and Mary (Knapp) Meade.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Barnes, and her husband, Gary, of Norwich; by her longtime companion, Carmen Mills of Holmesville; by her sister, Mary Baldwin of Norwich; and by three brothers, Robert Meade and wife, Lois, of Norwich, Richard Meade and wife, Deana, of Holmesville and Thomas Meade and wife, Virginia, of Norwich. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Donnie, Justin and John Wood, Megan Barnes, Matt Barnes and Ashley Barnes; and several nieces and nephews.

Reg was predeceased by her husband, Donald Carpenter, in 1961; and by her sister, Jean Burdick.

Memorial services for Reg will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Romeyn Kipp, pastor of the Holmesville Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery of South New Berlin.

Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Health Services Foundation, 10-42 Mitchell Ave., Binghamton, NY 13903, marked "Dialysis Unit."
