Max Wayne Hefner, 78, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013.

Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Riverview Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. His memory may be honored with a gift to Gideons International.

Max was born June 30, 1934 in Durant, Oklahoma to Claude and Florence Hefner. He married Frances Johnston on June 17, 1953 in Clayton, New Mexico. Max was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, the American Miniature Horse Association and the Hutchinson County Sheriff's Posse. He enjoyed raising corgi dogs, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys but his true loves were his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jessica Hefner; and a son, Ricky Hefner.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Frances of the home; son, Tommy Hefner and his wife, Becky Dee of Stinnett; daughters, Angela Cook and her husband, Travis of Calera, Oklahoma, Becky Basham and her husband, Charles of Skellytown; five grandchildren, Keith, Max, and Josh Hefner of Stinnett, Amanda Welch and her husband, Jason of Garland, Amy Day and her husband, Bryan of Sherman; great grandsons, Chase and Bradley Farrar of Garland; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hefner; and a brother, Jerry Don Hefner of Fritch.

STINNETT — Max Wayne Hefner, 78, of Stinnett died Saturday, June 8, 2013.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Riverview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Hefner was born June 30, 1934, in Durant, Okla., to Claude and Florence Hefner. He married Frances Johnston on June 17, 1953.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy Hefner of Stinnett; two daughters, Angela Cook of Calera, Okla., and Becky Basham of Skellytown; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a brother, Jerry Don Hefner of Fritch.
