Elizabeth W. Cummins, age 83, of Johnson City, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the NHC Healthcare Center, Johnson City.
She was a native of Brevard, NC, who had lived most of her life in Johnson City.
She was a daughter of the late Dicie Grogan and John Nevitt Waters.
Mrs. Cummins was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a homemaker, and her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cummins was preceded in death by: her husband, John "Jack" William Cummins II, two brothers, John and Dick Waters, and a sister, Ruth Etters.
Survivors include: four sons, Rev. Michael Cummins, of Johnson City, TN, John Cummins, of Murfreesboro, TN, Tony Cummins, and his wife Shelly, of Salt Lake City, UT, and Kevin Cummins, and his wife Tami, of Oak Ridge; a brother, Tommy Waters, and his wife Phyllis, of Brevard, NC; three sisters, Frances Henson, and her husband Doug, of Brevard, NC, Wilma Morgan, of Texas, and Wanda Sue Waters, of Brevard, NC; six grandchildren, Connor and Madison Cummins, of Murfreesboro, Bo Cummins, of Salt Lake City ,UT, Christian Cummins, of Jefferson City, TN, and Austin and Luke Cummins of Oak Ridge, TN.
The family of Mrs. Cummins will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday at St. Mary's. Father Michael Cummins will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for graveside services.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2211 E. Lakeview Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601 or the Autism Society, 4340 East West Hwy Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.
