OBITUARY: Burns Citizen Thursday, Feb. 18, 1932-Carrie Uppenkamp was born in Wuellen, Wesphalia, Germany, on April 27, 1871, and died Feb. 9, 1932, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon Lalouette, near Cedar Point, Kansas. With her parents and other members of her family, she came to America in 1884 and settled near Burns, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood. In 1890 she was married to Jerome Carpenter and to them were born three children who survive her. They are Mrs. Leon Lalouette and Gus Carpenter of Cedar Point and Joe Carpenter of Ponca City, Okla. 9 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Vestring of Burns., Mrs. J. A. Beuke of Wichita and Miss Anna Uppenkamp, 1 brother Bernard Uppenkamp of Hillsboro, Oregon. Burial was in Cedar Point Cemetery
