On November 2, 2001, everyone who had ever spent a night laughing and talking with Lance Presson or Joe Sullivan would be changed forever. The four core R&R members (Alias, Loki, Mojojojo, shyguy) were on their way to Raleigh to see a show with Moving Fusion. Alias and shyguy were to be tagging that evening. They made it to exit 341, and were trying to get gas, when they were struck by another car. Sadly, Lance and Joe did not make it. Danny incurred multiple fractures and Brian emerged bruised ,with a seperated shoulder, but both alive. The accident sent a shockwave through the east coast drum'n'bass community. Many knew Lance and Joe through the weekly, NC dnb events, and Lance's production, including his infamous remix of Digital's 'Deadline'. They are sorely missed one year later. Lance Presson's legacy lives on with the release of two of his tracks in collaboration with Focus, "Objection" and "Jabberjaw" are available worldwide on the NC-based Necmron Recordings. Look for Ziplock, a tune cained by Bailey since it was given to him by Lance himself shortly before his death, on the R&R-affiliated Basic Operations label some time in the future.
