Mrs. W. T. Felker Passes After Long Illness

After and illness since March, Mrs Sarah D Felker died at her home near New Hope last Saturday night. She was nearly 70 years of age and had lived in the eastern part of the county practically all her life. She was married to Mr. William T. Felker fifty years or more ago. She is survived by her husband, one daughter M rs. W. H. Lester, and four sons, Frank, Bob, Lee and Cliff, all of whom live around Booneville.

Mrs Felker was a member of the Baptist Church at Little Brown Creek, and her life was well spent. Besides her own family, she had taken three orphan girls into her home. Two of these girls were from the Orphanage and all now have homes of their own.

The funeral took place Sunday afternoon at Little Brown Creek and was attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives. The exercises were conducted by her life long friend and neighbor, Rev. G. P. Mayo, who spoke in tender terms of the life and character of the departed one. Beautiful floral offerings banked the newly made mound.

The Independent joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
