Jerry went by the last name of Blackwell and that is on his tombstone, but his birth name was Gearheart. Abraham and
Mary Blackwell kept him some and so did Isaac Blackwell. On one of the census records, it was stated he was "like one of the family." Research does not reveal who his parents were but the fact he was buried in the family cemetery reveals how the Blackwell family felt about him.
