Dorothy Marie Adams, 83, of Coachella, Calif. passed away on May 23, 2013 in Corona, Calif.
She was born Sept. 9, 1929 to Edgar and Tina Mack in Meridian, Okla. She attended local schools in Blythe and graduated from Palo Verde High School. She was also a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where she served as church pianist for many years prior to moving with her family to Coachella. She was a charter member of Evergreen Chapter No. 65, Order of the Easter Star.
Dorothy was a teacher with the Coachella Valley Unified School District for over 25 years.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Tina Ovbude of Corona, Calif.; sons, Gregory Adams of San Diego, Christopher Adams of Coachella, and Frank Adams of Corona. She is also survived by her brothers, Alonzo Mack and Rozene Mack of Blythe; 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Adams and son, Robert Adams; brothers, Floyd Mack, Ernest Mack, Lloyd Mack, Eddie Mack, and William Mack; sisters, Carrie Ector, Lula Henderson, and Naomi Butler.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on June 6, 2013 at the Second Baptist Church in Indio, Calif. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. with services immediately following at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
