GRAHAM - Mrs. Florence H. Housel

Private funeral services were held at the Shaw & Robena Funeral Home, Mansfield on Friday for Mrs. Florence H. Housel, 67, who died Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Housel was born November 15, 1898 in Syracuse, NY. She was the wife of Frank R. Housel, who survives. Also surviving are sons, Arthur of Corning, Purley of Wellsboro; daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Haverly of Mansfield; six grandchildren. The Rev. Earl Sires officiated at the burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. - Wellsboro Gazette, December 2, 1965

NOTE: This notice was printed in the Wellsboro Gazette on Thursday December 2, 1965. It talks of the funeral service in past tense and lists Friday as the date of that service. It also tells us that Florence died on Wednesday. So dating her death from the timing of the article, logically results in a date of death a week and one day prior to Thursday December 2 or on Wednesday November 24, 1965. This is the date I have used.
