Rudolph "Rudy" Scholtz, 91, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday June 17, 2010 at Independence Manor in Raritan Township, NJ. Born: October 30, 1918 in Astoria, Queens, NY, son of the late Andrew and Anna Skubik Scholtz, Personal: Rudy was a loving husband and will be dearly missed by his wife and many friends. Rudy lived in Kingwood Township before moving to Holland Township in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army and was a WW II veteran. Serving with the 1st Division 18th Infantry, he fought in the Battle of the Buldge and earned a bronze star. Rudy worked at the Riegle Paper Corp. in Milford, NJ for 32 years. Memberships: He was a member of the Milford VFW, the John Dolak American Legion Post 446 in Alpha, NJ, Orion Lodge #56 F& AM, Frenchtown, NJ for 58 years, the Riegle Paper Corp. Quarter Century Club and an honorary life member of the Farmer Sportsmans Club in Holland Township, NJ. Rudy is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen Melnyk Scholtz; a sister-in-law, Anna Nagy of Raritan Township, NJ; three nieces and many dear friends. He was predeceased by two brothers Roy and Andrew Scholtz, his sister Olga Stepps and his nephew Fred Scholtz. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Frenchtown Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
