Enlisted in 92nd Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force and was appointed to commissioned rank on 28 Aug 1915. He served in Canada, England and France with the 92nd Battalion., 15th Battalion., General List., 5th., and 12th Reserve Battalions., 1st Canadian Entrenching Battalion., 1st Central Ontario Regimental Depot and Canadian Corps Re-inforcement Camp. and was struck off strength on 17 Jan 1919 by reason of General Demobilization.
