Mary Lee Pierce Balzen,95, died on March 12, 2010 in the Hamilton Healthcare Center. Funeral services were held March 14 in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with dick Stovall and Butch Balzen officiating. Burial followed in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Hamilton.
She was born April 14, 1914 in Garden City, (Glasscock Co. Texas), the youngest daughter of J.F. and Cora Dunkleburg Pierce. She was married to her husband of 63 years, Oscar L. Balzen on January 28, 1930 in Quihi (Medina Co. TX). He preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Balzen was a homemaker and a member of the Park Heights Church of Christ. She made Hamilton her home since 1946.
Survivors include seven childdren, Eddie Balzen of Gatesville, Ruby Young of Quinlan, Christina Fisher of San Antonio, Archie Balzen of Cisco, Peggy Morgeson of Holland, Lilly Hudson and Kenneth Balzen, both of Hamilton; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Mary Balzen Kincheloe; a grandson Glen Dale Kincheloe; three sisters, Mildred Vansickle, Theadoas Balzen, and Rosalyn Haynes; six brothers, David, Walter,Ralph, Bill, Johnny and Albert.
