Corporal Glines was captured during the first assault on Battery Wagner (Morris Island, SC) on July 11, 1863. Events following being taken prisoner are detailed in his diary, held in Yale University Library. Another prisoner recorded a final entry in Glines' diary - "Henry Glines Departed This Life Feb 27th 1864 Richmond VA Disease Bronchitis". (Thank you David Moore)
