Her father was Andrew Byerly.

In 1880 she and her parents and seven siblings lived on a farm in Penn Township, Allegheny County, PA.

In 1900 she and her husband and their three children lived on a farm they owned, with a mortgage, in East Deer Township, Allegheny County, PA.

In 1910 she and Cyrus and their three youngest children lived on Pillow Avenue in Cheswick, PA. He worked as a bricklayer and Jessie as a public school teacher.

In 1920 she and her husband and their youngest child lived in a house they owned, mortgage free, on Colfax Street in Springdale, PA. He worked as a bricklayer on houses.

In 1930 the three of them lived in a house they owned on the Pittsburgh and Butler Highway (State Highway 8) in Middlesex Township, Butler County, PA. Their home was valued at $4000, and they did have a radio. Cyrus worked as a merchant, with a store, and Lawrence as a salesman at the store.

In 1940 she lived in presumably the same house, by herself. Her home was still valued at $4000.
