Ernest C. Pearsol, 84, of Kunkletown, died Thursday, Aug. 6, in Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. He was the husband of Mae A. Smith) Pearsol, and they observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in July.

Born in Aquashicola, he was a son of the late W. Herbert and Irene Knerr) Pearsol.

His lifelong career was involved with telephones. He was employed by Blue Ridge Telephone Co. in Kunkletown, Palmerton Telephone Co. and Commonwealth Telephone Co. for a total of 42 years before retiring as a district manager in 1985.

He was a member of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ in Kunkletown and various community organizations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Schneider and her husband, Donald, of Appenzell and Betty Meckes of Kunkletown; two sisters, Betty and Gloria Pearsol, both of Allentown; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
