Dorothy Jean (Trenney) Patz, 81, of Blairsville, (Brenizer), passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the home of her son, Bruce. A daughter of Anthony P. and Catherine I. (Fox) Trenney, she was born April 19, 1929, in Smithdale. Mrs. Patz lived in Brenizer most of her life. She was a member of Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville. Prior to her retirement in 1989, she worked as a cook at Torrance State Hospital for 24 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved feeding everyone and baking her Christmas cookies. She is survived by a son, Bruce Patz and wife Cindy, of Blairsville; daughter-in-law, Cathy Patz, of Blairsville; three grandchildren: Jason, Justin and Kayla; two brothers, Anthony Trenney, of Brenizer; and Thomas Trenney, of Perry, Ohio; three sisters: Audrey Way, of Hawaii; Joanne Kubistek, of Golden, Colo.; and Eileen Smith, of Mentor, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold E. Patz, in 1992; a son, Harold James Patz, in 2010; three brothers: Ira, Charles and Ronald Trenney; and three sisters: Virginia Monnich, Edith Hill and Anna Mae Lewis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Beverly J. Banyay officiating. Interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
