Clyde W. Allen , the son of Will Anderson Allen and Mittie Lou Priddy Allen , was born April 24 , 1925 in Lee County , Mississippi. Clyde's paternal grandparents were Charlie Frank Allen and Lonie Belle Fowler Allen , and his maternal grandparents were James F. Priddy and and Carrie B. MaCarty Priddy . His siblings were Will Allen , Jr. , Ruby Bell Allen Brooks , Faye Allen Burgess , and Joe Merle Allen . During World War II he served as a Marine in the Pacific . Clyde began his career employed as a worker in construction projects and later became a contractor with his own business . He served as Commander of West Tennessee VFW and was a member of Williston Baptist Church. He died June 28, 2005 in his own residence in Shelby County , Tennessee having been preceded in death by his wife Lois Mae Bailey Allen to whom he had been married 48 years , his parents Will Anderson Allen and Mittie Lou Priddy Allen , brother Joe Merle Allen , and sister Ruby Bell Allen Brooks . He was survived by his brother Will Allen , Jr. , sister Faye Burgess , stepdaughter Margaret Ann Lowry , stepsons - Samuel " Buddie" Pannell , Joe Pannell , and Pete Pannell , step grandchildren and step great grandchildren , and nieces and nephews .
