Kooken – McMullen
A pretty summer wedding marked with simplicity was solemnized at the manse of the First Presbyterian church last Wednesday night at seven o’clock, when Miss Ruby McMullen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McMullen, 302 Tenth street, became the bride of Lee W. Kooken, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kooken, 1208 Lincoln avenue, Dr. Joseph A. Speer, pastor of the church, officiating.
Mrs. Frank Hand, of Tyrone, was matron of honor, while Robert M. Fenschumacher was best man. The bride was attired in a pink crepe dress, wore a white picture hat and white gloves. Her corsage was of roses. The matron of honor wore a blue crepe dress blue bonnett hat and white gloves and gray slippers. Her corsage was also of roses.
Following the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hand, 428 Garfield street, where a reception and wedding supper were given. Mr. and Mrs. Kooken will take up housekeeping in the near future.

Mrs. Ruby G. Kooken of 208 W. Eleventh Street, Tyrone, died Saturday, August 20, 1960, at 6:20 p.m. in the Tyrone Hospital. Her death followed an extended illness.
She was born August 6, 1912, at Tyrone, a daughter of George and Nannie (Moffett) McMullen. She was married June 22, 1938, at Tyrone, to Lee W. Kooken.
Her husband is surviving, along with the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Harry Brindle of Saginaw, Mich., Carl McMullen of Altoona, Bernard McMullen of Tyrone, Frank McMullen of Huntingdon, R.D., and Miss Mary McMullen and Miss Ruth McMullen, both of Tyrone, Mrs. Maxine Hand of Tyrone, and Eugene McMullen of Barree. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday from the Johnson funeral home at Tyrone. The Rev. Dr. Robert L. Hutchison will officiate. Interment will be made at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends are being received at the funeral home.
