Hazel Drake Gwin, was born in Sheridan, Ark., on May 29, 1917, the daughter of the late Frank and Iva Hamilton Gwin. She died Dec. 4, 2001, at the Baptist Health Center in Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 84 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jack Gwin, who died May 17, 1984.

She was a retired secretary for the Grant County Board of Education; a charter member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at Sheridan; a member of the Grace Sunday School Class; the Landmark Golden Agers; the Retired Teachers Association; and also a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors are a son, Jack F. "Butch" Gwin of Bismarck, Ark.; two daughters, Sue (spouse, Larry) Hedden, Sheridan, Jane (spouse, Ronnie) Gillis, Sheridan; six grandchildren, Gray Davis, Gwin (spouse, Cotton) Cunningham, Paige (spouse, Darrell) Kelly, Ron Gillis, Cody (spouse, Ashley) Gwin, Callie Gwin; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Whitaker, Chandler Kelly, Karlie Gwin.
