Peter A. Svendgaard was born June 13, 1861 in Gylling
Parish, Aahrus County, Denmark. He left Copenhagen on the
(Brennan) Steamship Line October 1, 1881 and arrived at the port of Baltimore, October 18, 1881 (as recorded on his application to the Danish Brotherhood of America).
He declared his Intention for Naturalization March 4, 1885.
He signed a Petition for Naturalization on September 16, 1913 and received his Certificate of Naturalization May 11, 1914. He died September 14, 1914.
His cousin, Soren Jensen already in U.S., helped to encourage him to come. He later married Soren's second daughter, Emma, on June 1, 1886. He lived all his life in Washington County Nebraska as a farmer.
