Harry K. Kilmer
Harry K. Kilmer, 84, of Johnstown, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at home, following a brief illness.
He was born November 17, 1920 in Johnstown, the son of the late Robert L. and Grace Kenyon Kilmer.
Harry was a 1939 graduate of Johnstown High School.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps-Air Force from 1941 until 1970, serving in WWII, Korean War (Conflict), and two tours of Viet Nam. Harry served at Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Northern Solomon's and Western Pacific. He was the recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal, American Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific service medal, and Good Conduct medal.
Mr. Kilmer was a member of the pine Tree Rifle Club, and D.A.V.
Survivors include his wife Erah Ovitt Kilmer whom he married July 9, 1946; two daughters Elayne (Robert) Hall of Amsterdam, and Debbie Hennessey of Johnstown; three sons Ronald (Jeanette) Kilmer of Broadalbin, David (Tracy) Kilmer of Rochester, and John and fiancee Kelly of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother James Kilmer; and a step-sister Beverly Braam; seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers Robert and Edward Kilmer, and sisters Eileen Hildebrandt and Ester Kilmer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Friends and family may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, Christ Lutheran Church, or to the charity of ones choice.
