VETERAN US ARMY WWII

Mansel was the third of Jack and Naomi Misner Varnell's twelve children. He grew up on their farm and among other things inherited their powerfully strong work ethic and love of family. Mansel married Fern Dodd on August 14, 1944. He was in the Army from 1944 to 1946, and worked as a pipefitter for 34 years after that. Mansel also worked as a butcher and welder. Fern and he were devout members of the Church of Christ and saw to it their children grew up in a Christian home. Mansel had a fine voice and loved to sing hymns. He was a friendly, helpful fellow who could be depended on whenever he was needed.

Mansel is survived by three daughters, six grandchildren, and six great-grandkids. Also surviving him are six sisters and two brothers. He is predeceased by his wife Fern and their two sons Roy and Rex, his parents, his brothers Gerald and Fred, and his sister Verla.

Many warm thanks to all who have so kindly visited Mansel! May the Good Lord bless you all!
