Dixie Lee Anderton Anderson was set free from her pain and returned to her Heavenly Father on May 20, 2013 at the age of 53 after having complications from surgery. She was born July 3, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Richard and Coleen Pearson Anderton. She was sealed to the love of her life, Curtis, in the SLC Temple on July 13, 1978.
Curtis and Dixie met at a Friday night Institute dance. They fell instantly in love and were married 3 months later. This July will mark 35 years of marriage. She loved to go for walks and hold the hand of her husband. There was never a lack of love shared between the two lovebirds. Dixie's greatest desire in life was to be a mom. After learning she couldn't have children of her own, Dixie turned to adoption. Curtis and Dixie adopted three beautiful children. Her life was devoted to her children even though she was always in pain. She loved to visit with her son Brandon, go to Aubrey's concerts and plays, and cheer Heather on at her softball games. One of her favorite things to do with her family was play games. Her smile and joy radiated from her every action. Dixie is a published author of a book called "All I Ever Wanted" and multiple poems. Dixie is a great example of Christ-like love through serving others. Some of her service was in leadership callings for the LDS church. She impacted and changed the lives of everyone she met through her many acts of service. In the last few years of her life, her greatest regret was not having the ability to more actively serve her family and the people around her. Dixie lived a life of love, compassion, charity, humility, and service. She will be missed by all, but we know we will see her again. The children and I love you. Till we meet again my beautiful wife and our loving mother.

Curtis Anderson of St. George, Utah, son Brandon Anderson of Panguitch, Utah, daughter Heather Abbott of Paragonah, Utah, son-in-law Daniel Abbott, daughter Aubrey Anderson of St. George, Utah, along with her brothers and sisters Larry Anderton (RaeLynn) of West Jordan, Terry Anderton (Ginger) of Salt Lake, Dianne Eatchel (Tom) of Salt Lake, John Anderton of Salt Lake, Cathy Barela (Steve) of Murray, Linda Cowley (Neil) of South Jordan and Steve Anderton (Christine) of Brazil. She is preceded in death by her mother Coleen Pearson Anderton, her brother Robert Michial Anderton and her granddaughter Jordynn Abbott.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 24, 2013, at noon with a viewing held before the services from 10 to 11:30 at the Eastridge LDS Chapel in Logan, Utah, at 1350 E. Eastridge Drive. Another viewing will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from noon to 1 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St. in St. George, Utah, followed by interment at Tonaquint cemetery., at 1777 S. Dixie Drive in St. George, Utah.
