Mrs. Katherine Huehnebein, of Hancock, Mich., who spent a few weeks visiting with relatives here shortly before the holidays, and who left here for a visit with her only surviving sister, Mrs. John Dirks, of Fond du Lac, died suddenly Tuesday of this week, before completing her visit. Mrs. Huehnebein was a sister of the late Mrs. Nic Boie, of this village and was born in Germany, April 8th, 1836. At the age of 25, she came to New Holstein, and shortly after was married to Benedict Kuehl. Their union was destined to be but of short duration as Mr. Kuehl fell in the Civil War. After the war, she married a second time, this time to Theodore Huehnebein, and removed to Hancock, Mich., where she resided since then. The remains were taken to Hancock for interment.
