Elizabeth 'Betty' Armstrong

GUILFORD — Elizabeth "Betty" Armstrong, 91, of Guilford, and formerly of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2002, at The Hospital, Sidney.

She was born on Oct. 23, 1910, in Lanesboro, Pa., the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Euley Luciana.

On Feb. 13, 1934, she married Robert F. Armstrong in Susquehanna, Pa. He predeceased her on Nov. 5, 1974.

From 1935 until her retirement in 1979, Betty and her husband owned and operated Bob's Diner in Bainbridge.

She was a member of the Bainbridge United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Harry Davis of Guilford; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert F. and Barbara Armstrong of Penhook, Va.; a sister, Rose Kane of Binghamton; a brother, James Luciana of Jackson, Pa.; six granddaughters; seven great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Thomas Luciana, predeceased her.

Funeral and committal services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, from the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., in Sidney.

Friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be at a later date in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge.

Memorial gifts in her name may be directed to the Bainbridge Emergency Squad if desired.
