Edward Dale Parrish, 80, of Marion passed away at 8:45 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2007, at the Fountains Nursing Home Care Facility in Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at The Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Oral Perry officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday January 23, 2007 at the funeral home. Military rites will be held at the funeral home by Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.

Mr. Parrish was born July 10, 1926 in Goreville, Illinois to Edgar and Eunice Parrish. He married Mable H. Harris in Jackson, Missouri on May 20, 1955 she preceded him in death.

He is survived by nephews; Jack and Shirley Parrish of Marion, Denny and Alisa Parrish of Goreville, and Bob Parrish of Marion; niece Sherry and Bill Durham of Goreville; many great nieces and great nephews; he also had one brother and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mable.

Mr. Parrish was the business manager for Local 577 Laborers Union, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was saved and belonged to the Pulley’s Mill Pentecost Church.
