Helen Almaroad, 89, of Marion passed away at 5:55 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Ken Burgard officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.

Mrs. Almaroad was born May 16, 1919 in Williamson County, Illinois to Lee and Opal (Rushing) Cutrell. She married Robert Almaroad on June 6, 1942 in Christopher, Illinois; together they shared 66 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Almaroad of Marion; her children, Larry and Dianna Almaroad of Grapevine, Texas, Nancy Woolard of West Frankfort, Jerry and Gale Almaroad of Mt. Vernon, and Dale and Lillian Almaroad of Marion; grandchildren, Leigh Ann and Kerry Tabler, Ronnie, Jr. and Devon Almaroad, Tresa Dawn and Ted Guinzy, Darrell Woolard, Doug and Andrea Woolard, Kevin and Pam Woolard, Jarrod and Deidra Almaroad, Jessica Almaroad, Amanda Almaroad and Alexis Almaroad; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Nadine Cutrell and Barbara Rinella both of Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Don Gladys Cutrell of Energy; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Almaroad.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronnie Almaroad, Sr.; infant son and infant daughter; son-in-law, Gerald Woolard; and brother, Harley Cutrell.

Mrs. Almaroad was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Marion. She was a homemaker, good mother and grandmother. She loved her family and she will be greatly missed by all.
