Betty Aleen McClure was born Feb. 17, 1932 in Georgia to William (Bill) and Molley Beulah Gaines. On the day that she was born her grandmother Mary E. Gaines died. Mama was the second child out of six children. She had three sisters, Kathleen , Faye and Elsie and two brothers Jack and Johnny .
Her first marriage at the age of 16 was to Oscar W. Moore, they had one son together, Dave Moore. The marriage did'nt last long and then she married my daddy, Arthur R. Davis and they had three boys together, Allan, Wayne and James and then three girls Barbara , Darlene(me) and Mamie and then she raised her sister (Faye's) daughter (April)from birth as her own.
She had 21 grandchildren and they were all very special to her. They were Shawn, Brandon and Kevin Moore, Tracie, Allan Jr. and Joey Davis, Bryan and John Davis, Jimmy, Patrick and Aaron Davis, Stephanie and Stacy Dhaliwal, Teri, Paige and Matthew Sneed. B.J. and Sandy Sneed, Daniel Davis, Manny and Casey Weller. At the time of her death she had 20 great-grandchildren that also called her Granny.
She was a very special lady that was a big part of my life. I was a Mama's girl and I miss her everyday.
