NORWICH — Velma Seward, 79, of Norwich, died Dec. 11, 2001, at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.

She was born Oct. 10, 1922, daughter of Chancey and Shirley Spencer in Colchester.

Velma married Victor D. Seward on July 27, 1946, in Walton. He predeceased her on Oct. 26, 1990.

She is survived by two sons, Victor Seward, Walton, and Roy Seward and Anna, Binghamton; three daughters, Linda and Arthur Christensen, Guilford, Ann Norwood, Roscoe, and Sharon Crisell, Guilford; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral and committal services will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney, at 3 p.m.

Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney in the spring.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chenango Memorial Nursing Facility in Norwich, NY.
