CHERRYFIELD - Frank Milton Dow, Jr., a lifetime resident of Washington County, passed away at the age of 75 on Sunday, April 28, 2013, in Bangor.

Frank was born January 11, 1938, in Cherryfield, Maine, to Frank Milton and Hazel (Wakefield) Dow, Sr. He grew up in the Cherryfield area and was a member of Cherryfield Academy's class of 1956. Frank began his first ventures into farm work as a youth at Gays Farm. Later, he would also worked for Cirrones Phillips 66 Station, County Concrete, drove a milk truck, worked at a tannery, and A.L. Stewarts. However, Frank established his career with Cherryfield Foods where he worked as a blueberry farm crew leader. On December 2, 1978, he and the love of his life, Delia O. Young were married in Milbridge. Frank was a member of the Masons and in his free time enjoyed playing Yahtzee and card games with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed fast cars and racing, especially his Impala SS, and was a fan of Red Sox baseball. Frank will be remembered by his family for his kind and social nature, his laughter, and lifetime of unconditional love.

Frank is survived by his wife, Delia O. Dow, at home in Cherryfield; children, Leo Dow of St. Marys, Georgia, Robin Dow and her husband, Clayton Smith, of Waldoboro, Gary Dow, and his wife, Melanie, of Hancock, Roxanne Knapp of Rochester, New Hampshire, Ray Young, and his wife, Mary, of Cherryfield, Douglas Young, and his wife, Karen, of Florida; brother, Stanley Dow and his wife, Cherry of Gouldsboro; sisters, Patricia Brooks of Gouldsboro, Carrie Benner and her husband, Phillip of Portland, Jeannie Westcott and her husband, Bryce of Springvale; sisters-in-law, Jean Dow of Steuben and Lois Worcester and her husband, Thomas of Columbia Falls; grandchildren, Erika Stone of Warren, Cristy Smith of Waldoboro, Jami Dow, Brandi Knapp, and Codi Knapp of Rochester, New Hampshire, Benjamin Dow, Gary Dow, Jr., and Rachel Dow of Hancock, Dillon Young of Afghanistan, Natalie Young of Bangor, and Nicholas Young of Florida; great grandchildren, Brandon Dow, Kylea and Joshua Stone, and Nathan Winchenbach; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Arnold Dow; sister, Joanne Dow; and brother-in-law, David Brooks.
