Farrel May Bennett, age 82, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Bountiful. Farrel was born on May 31, 1917 in Mink Creek, Idaho, a daughter of Erastus Wilhelm and Christina Jensen Rasmussen. She married Arthur Dale Bennett on Oct. 14, 1936 in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away on Sept. 26, 1998. Farrel grew up and attended school in Mink Creek and Preston, Idaho.

After her marriage, she and Dale lived on the Bennett family farm in Mound Valley. They raised laying hens for many years. She worked for eight years as a seamstress at Logan Knitting Mills. She became an expert on Shakespeare and did many plays and theatrical productions. They moved to Layton in 1977 to be near their family.

She served in many positions in the LDS Church. She and Dale served a mission in Ventura, California.

She is survived by two sons, Bryce (JoAnn) Bennett of Layton, and Barton (Pamela) Bennett of Kirkland, WA; two daughters, Nadine (Darwin) Talbot of Salt Lake City, and Carolyn Lewis of Pocatello, ID; 26 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren; one sister, Verda Wagstaff of Orange, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two grandsons, one brother, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, 2000 at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road, with Bishop Scott Boman officiating. Friends and family may call on Sunday at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the services. Interment, Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton.
