Mrs. Chapman, a resident of
South Edwards, north of Grayville,
passed away last Tuesday morning
in route to the Carmi Township
hospital. She had been in poor
health for several years.
A daughter of George and Amanda
Cox Jessop, she was born in Edwards
county on Aug. 15, 1876. She
and her husband, John, lived near
the city limits of Grayville for
years. She was a member of the
Grayville First Baptist church.
Surviving are her husband and
one sister, Mrs. Alice Broster
of Albion R. R.
