Elbert Hall Gunner Walters, 87, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Meadows in Orange, Texas.

Gunner was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 23, 1925 to the late Elbert Lee and Henrietta Hall Walters.

Gunner served his country proudly in the U. S. Marine Corp during World War II and was a long time resident of Port Neches, Texas. He attended A& M University, Lamar Junior College, and earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University. For a short time he was employed by Texaco before being called home to help in his parent's hardware store. From that date to retirement, Gunner made his career in Walter's Hardware.

Funeral services will be held at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland.

Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Gunner is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie Ellen Walters; and brother, Felix Walters, MD.
