Professsional Football Player. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, he graduated from Denver University where he starred in football and wrestling. He was then drafted into the National Football League and played for the Pittsburgh Steelers before World War II. He served as a United States Navy officer during the war, then returned to the NFL for seven years with the San Francisco 49ers, where he was an All-Pro two-way lineman.
