Jennett Cole was born in Kent, CT to Hezekiah and Jerusha (Beers) Cole. In 1845, she married Charles H. Curtiss of Kent and they moved to Warren, CT (not far from Kent) and operated a farm there for the rest of their lives. The farm was on the main road just east of the village center.
They had two children, and one, Augustin died in infancy. Their other child, a daughter Alice, moved away from Warren, possibly to Cambridge, MA (Alice's first cousin who was teaching at Harvard, notes that "He took dinner with Alice in Cambridge")
The family were members of the Congregational Church, still a beautiful presence and high on a hill in Warren.
Jennett, Charles and baby Augustin are buried in Old Warren Cemetery. Their grave monument is quite prominent.
Charles also has a number of Curtiss relatives buried there.
Jennett was an avid reader and letter-writer.
