Jon Boster grew up in Boulder, Montana, the son of a school teacher and an EMS provider. He became a firefighter and EMT. He was employed by the Grant County Fire Dept. Moses Lake, Washington He was very well liked and loved doing his job.
He was killed in the line of duty April 8, 1996. After his death, his fire dept. donated equipment, even a fire truck, to the fire dept. in his hometown as a gesture of their great love for this man.
Every spring, Boulder hosts the "Jon Boster Memorial Basketball Tournament." It has grown to be a fairly large event and people from all over come back to Boulder to play in it and remember Jon.
