Anna Murphy was born 25 May 1856 in Bray, Wicklow, Ireland, the daughter of Francis and Anne Murtha Murphy. She and two sisters came to America in the 1870's where they married and raised large families. Anna met and married Robert James Burrows in Michigan in 1874. She was the mother of eight children, six of whom survived to adulthood. She died in Duluth, Minnesota on 25 November 1928.
