Mrs Ben (Velma M) Thomas, 74, of 4404 Mercer Road, Decatur, died Tuesday.
Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday at Davis Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be at the church at 1pm.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Jessie Luke of Decatur, Mrs Vera [Ballard] Drew of Artesia Calif, and Mrs Jo Ann [Thomas] Perkins of Austell; three sons, Herman Ballard of Atlanta, G A Thomas of Mableton and John S Thomas of Austell; 222 grandchildren.
Roy Davis Funeral Home in Austell is in charge of arrangements.

Daughter of Robert M Holcombe & Mary C Robinson, his 2nd wife, she married Hoyt Ballard on 16 Dec 1914 in Haralson Co GA, and James Benjamin Franklin Thomas on 19 Jun 1924. She was 3rd cousins & 4th cousins with her 2nd husband although they may not have known. [Memorial manager is cousins with her and her husband.]
